In my survey, I found a few interesting differences between men and women and how they share presentation content in social media.
The first thing I found is that while only 22% of women reported that they'd Tweet or blog about a presentation if they disagreed with it, a full 40% of men said they would. Men are more likely to talk about how they disagree with your presentation.
Next, I found that women were much more motivated by "people not there" to share presentation content on social media than men. When I asked what motivated people to share presentation content, I noticed that some talked about the other people actually at the presentation, and some mentioned people who couldn't attend, but were probably following them on Twitter.
During a large webinar I gave I captured all the Tweet with the hash tag and analyzed them afterwards. Also during the webinar, I asked people to raise their hands as if they were in the audience of a physical presentation. While the overall webinar audience contained more women than men, far more men reported raising their hands, indicating that men may be more likely to comply with a presenter's request.
